Very nice Trekking. Lakes, Wood, beautiful panoramas. 150 Km away from Palermo -
Take the Palermo - Messina Motorway, Exit S.Agata Militello. Then follow the direction Cesarò.You'll pass S.Fratello, then you'll pass 2 tunnels. Check the Mile stones. At Km 33.9 Make Left (for Monte Soro) Around 1 Km after, park your car and start this nice hiking
What you are going to see:
Lago Maulazzo (Maulazzo Lake): At 1.400 mt l.s. It's on the north oriental base of Monte Soro. It's an artificial lakes built in the 80s. It's next to the beautiful wood of Sollazzo Verde.
Lago Biviere (Biviere Lake) : at 1.278 mt l.s. This is a natural lake. It's the most important mountain lake in Sicily. Lake Biviere makes up the most valued humid zone of Sicily, also due to its unique vegetation and animal habitat.
Monte Soro: (1847 mt l.s.) It's the highest peak of Nebrodi. From there you can see the Etna, the Eolie Islands. Next to a wonderful wood.
Acero: Next to the top of Monte Soro you'll find one of the biggest Acero Trees (Acer pseudoplatanus) 22 mt high and 6 mt large

The Nice Trekking day to Nebrodi Mountains
This trek is very beautiful and landscapes very differents. You'll pass thru some beautiful woods, you'll see some lakes, goats, Grifoni (if you are lucky), black pigs, horses and hundreds different birds.

In 1993 large areas of the Nebrodi Mountains were made into national parkland. The park covers 856.87 km².
