Very nice place with a beautiful long beach. 180 Km away from Palermo - Not far from Milazzo
Take the Palermo - Messina Motorway, Exit Falcone. If you want to get the the town and the chirch with its spectacular view, follow the indication "Tindari". To get the beach follow the indication Oliveri and then Laghetti (small Lakes)
The view from the church is great...the shape of the beach is particular.
Ancient village on the northen coast of Sicily. It was founded by Dyonisius in 395 B.C. Tyndaris was one of the last settlements to be estabilished by the Greeks in Sicily. Growing rapidly, the town played a strategic role of great importance in guarding the Thyrrhenian maritime routes.

The Nice day trip to Tyndaris
If you climb the hills of Tindari you can see Patti Bay and the beaches stretching up to Cape Milazzo. The path to the top of Capo Tindari passes alongside the city's walls, which were built during the reign of Dionysius and later replaced with a double barrier of square stones. The Christian Sanctuary sits high on the hill in the city. It is famous for its black Madonna statue that draws visitors from afar on the Feast of the Visitation in May and the Nativity on September 8. The Greco-Roman Theater is just off the Decumanus Superiore, which is the main road in the city. It was built by the Greeks in the late 4th century and its cavea, or auditorium, faces the sea and the Aeolian Islands. In imperial times, it was the stage for gladiator fights. Now, from the last week in July to the third week in August the theater hosts the Tindari Festival, at which poetry, music, dances and plays are performed. Tindari is also a great place to stay when visiting the Aeolian Islands.

The beach its self is very long and never crowded exept the first 100 meters next to the village (Oliveri) and next to the camp site where you can rent a tent or a bungalow. Sicilians don't like to walk so...find a place where you should walk longer than 15 minutes to get and it will be just for you ;o)
